He Inoa no Kilinahe
A Name Song for Kilinahe
na ka Papa 'Olelo Hawai`i 3
Kamehameha Schools Maui High School, 8/07
Kahiko i ka nani 'o HAmakuapokol
Finely adorned in beauty is Hämäkuapoko
I ka malu o ka Pu`u o Kaka`e2
In the shelter of Pu Pu 'u o Kaka'e
Aloha e Kailua3 a me MAliko4
Greetings oh Kailua and Mäliko
NA pea pumehana o ku`u `Aina
The warm boundaries of my beloved land
Ua hui ke Kiu5 me ka NAulu6
The clouds of the Kiu rain engage with those of the Ndulu
A kill nahe mai ka ua `13kiu7
And the DA rain sprinkles gently forth
He 'ala onaona e moani mai nei
It is an inviting fragrance lingering upon the wind
I puia i ke `ala o ka maile8
Infused with the scent of maile
Ha`ina ku`u mele no ku`u home
Thus my song is told
A kili nahe mai ka ua ‘Ukiu
And the 'Clkiu rain sprinkles gently forth
